Business Situation
Today, healthcare providers are looking for secured, quicker and more efficient ways to share information within their organization and with outside key suppliers, partners, and clients. Organizations are on the lookout for solutions that enable them to jumpstart business processes with robust and secured portal to facilitate information sharing both within organizations and over the Internet.
Our client, Emergency Medicine Associates (EMA), comprising of physicians and mid-level providers, is the largest emergency service provider based in Germantown, Maryland. EMA provides hospital-based Pediatric, Critical Care, House Officer, Neonatal, and Occupational Medicine coverage at several hospitals in the region.
EMA approached LTS regarding certain lags and issues with the existing SharePoint 2010 portal. This portal, that was been used for collaboration and employee listing was cluttered and no longer provided quick and efficient results and the idea was to revamp the intranet system with SharePoint 2013.
The idea was to use SharePoint 2013 for an improved interface and functionality by revamping Home page, Master page and Navigation. The client also required redesigning key views and custom web parts. More than anything, the new design was expected to be simple, intuitive and usable and the functional intranet portal after migration of necessary documents and information would ensure efficient continuity of business processes.
